Dear Friends of the Rotary Foundation,

Welcome to the District 6970 Rotary Foundation website.  The sole purpose of this website and the District Foundation Committee is to support our Rotarians and each club’s initiatives from fund raising to project fulfillment.  Our goal is to ensure that you have the tools and resources available to Do Good in your club, your community and our world.  Each program addresses a special area and is manned by Rotarians who understand and are passionate about the Foundation processes.

  • Organize, promote, and present Foundation oriented materials at the District Foundation Seminar a/k/a Vibrant Club Seminar, District Training Assembly and District Conference.
  • Track and tabulate Foundation Giving throughout the District and promote/encourage timely submission of funds to The Rotary Foundation and reports to DG and Rotary International.

Several clubs in our District have, for more than 10 years, been leading Global Grants in rural Cambodia which are among the most successful projects in the Rotary world. These are life-changing grants. They are entirely empowerment-based, with the village families committing to months and years of hands-on work and organization, and to “pass-on” elements whereby village families help other villages in the future. The projects include wells, latrines, biosand filters, animal pass-on programs and vegetable gardening/agriculture that enables the families to keep their children in school. And the children are then enrolled in village schools with Rotary-based Youth Clubs. These grants have been hugely successful in creating sustainable change.

A new Global Grant is being prepared, this one to be led by the Ponte Vedra Rotary Club and joined by the Rotary Club of Gainesville. Clubs in Australia, Utah and New York will also participate. We are hopeful that other clubs in D-6970 will participate. The empowerment project will be life-changing for more than 3,000 souls, helping women, men and children. If your club is interested, please contact Richard Allen at rallen@synogen.com. Time is off the essence as the target filing date for having club commitments is end-of-November (actual funding is then likely to be in Jan-Feb 2023).

Rotary Foundation receives highest rating from Charity Navigator for 14th consecutive year

By

For the 14th consecutive year, The Rotary Foundation has received the highest rating — four stars — from Charity Navigator, an independent evaluator of charities in the U.S.

The Foundation earned the recognition for adhering to sector best practices and executing its mission in a financially efficient way, demonstrating both strong financial health and commitment to accountability and transparency. Only one percent of the organizations Charity Navigator evaluates have received 14 consecutive 4-star evaluations.

“We are honored to have been recognized and to be among the top 1% of charities evaluated,” said Rotary Foundation Trustee Chair John Germ. “Our donors can feel proud knowing that their gifts will allow them to make an impact in their communities and the world for years to come.”

The rating reflects Charity Navigator's assessment of how the Foundation uses donations, sustains its programs and services, and practices good governance and openness.
